When thinking of a new year, one might think of moving forward and starting new resolutions; not Ferrari. The Italian supercar manufacturer brought it back to grit and muscle with the Ferrari F8 Tributo.
The brand pays homage to its fastest two-seater V8 by creating the F8 Tributo. Attributing design to its first Berlinetta (sports coupe) from 1975, the F8 Tributo has become Ferrari’s new mid-rear-engine sports car. This eight-cylinder was made for performance, driving pleasure and ease of handling, while also being accessible to a wide-range of owners with various driving styles.
The base model F8 Tributo hosts a powerful V8 twin turbo engine that kicks up approximately 710 hp and 8,000 rpm, which is Ferrari’s most powerful engine in a non-special series.
The car was designed as the brand’s most aerodynamically efficient series mid-rear-engine coupe, which was a bridge between the Ferrari Styling Centre’s new design aspects and the iconic high-performance features.
When facing the front of the F8 Tributo, one will see that Ferrari incorporated the signature F1 racing series’ S-Duct. This is part of the brand’s redesign to enhance the aerodynamic performance capabilities. The front of this beauty is complemented by additional side intakes, which are integrated into the shape of the bumper, creating a sleek overall look.
Moving to the back, one will notice the spoiler has been enlarged and extended. This was purposefully designed to show how the F8 Tributo is now at a lower center of gravity point. This was included to commemorate the twin light clusters and tail from the first Berlinetta – the 308 GTB.
Now, the F8 Tributo replaces Ferrari’s 488 GTB and, in the range, is the model with the highest performance matched by the greatest driver involvement. There are significant improvements across the board aimed at providing even better control on the limit along with greater on-board comfort.
Not only is this supercar quick, drivers can experience an ease of use all at their fingertips. The F8 Tributo now offers an even broader range of vehicle dynamics. One of which is the all-new RACE feature that is a part of the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer Plus (FDE+). This feature was designed to make performance and control even easier as it can be accessed directly from the steering wheel. The FDE+ is a lateral dynamic control system that uses Ferrari software to adjust the brake pressure at the vehicle’s calipers. This software debuted on the 488 Pista, but the new FDE+ version adopted on the F8 Tributo extends its functionality.
Ferrari also included the Side Slip Control system, which improves drivers’ control on the limit for even more engaging involvement. The control system, which is operational through and exiting corners, now also extends to low grip conditions and to the, as previously mentioned, RACE setting with the new and specifically aimed for corner performance.
